WHITECHAPEL drummer quits, no announcement made by band

Today I stumbled upon an article done by Metal Injection which hinted that their drummer Ben Harclerode has quit the band. According to a string of tweets put out by Ben and to fans, he left the band in May and since has decided not to take up any music. The spot is being filled in by Chason Westmoreland(Burning The Masses, ex-The Faceless, ex-Hate Eternal). Ben was the drummer since roughly 2011 so it will definitely be sad to his talents go. However, he reassures that there will be no “downgrade” with the new drummer, he personally knows him and thinks he’s great.

While it’s sad to see such a phenomenal drummer decide to take a break from music, it must be best for him personally. It’s pretty admiring to see how he directly responds to the fans and doesn’t beat around the bush with what is going on. Whether it’s for personal reasons or just a change of heart, we wish Ben the best in any future endeavors he seeks to do.

In other news you can also catch Whitechapel on some select European dates which starts in London today, August 10th. For any more info regarding a statement by the band, check out their facebook. As of yet the band has not mentioned news of Ben quitting.
