What a special night Friday, September 8th was at Blue Ridge Rock Festival. Flyleaf wrapped up a series of Reunion shows with their original vocalist Lacey Sturm. Flyleaf reunited with Sturm in 2023 for 7 special shows, including Blue Ridge Rock Festival. Flyleaf played the Monster Energy Mainstage at 6:40, giving fans an 11-song set spanning from their self-titled album, Memento Mori, New Horizons, and 1 cover. One special moment fans got to experience was during the band’s performance of “Fully Alive” from their Self-Titled 2006 release, which included the story behind the song. Fully Alive was written about the wife of Trust Company’s frontman Layla Palmer, who was also in the audience that night after watching her husband Kevin Palmer perform with Trust Company earlier in the day. Though the band has stated there were no plans currently for Flyleaf after Blue Ridge we can only hope this will not be the last time the 5 piece will be on stage.
