Scarlxrd (pronounced “Scarlord”) is a British rapper from Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England. He has an unusual music style which combines the musical stylings of trap and metal, often related to “SoundCloud artists”. His sound is often comparable to artists such as “GHOSTEMANE, XXXTentacion, KILLSTATION and A-LOW Rx”. Formerly, he was the lead vocalist for the nu metal band Myth City. In which he drew influence from Rage against the Machine.

As can be seen with his stage name and song titles, Scarlxrd replaces the letter “o” with “x,” . His clothing style and music videos are heavily influenced by Japanese culture. His signature mask was inspired by the manga Tokyo Ghoul while Slipknot is another inspiration towards his visuals.

Scarlxrd always grew up listening to, relating to, and inspired by heavy music. While his family, his “cousins” as he’d say, were all about Hip Hop music. When it came to rap music growing up, he would listen to Nelly and Missy Elliot, but the artist that he liked the most was none other than Eminem.

Scarlxrd credits the consistency of the releases for the music videos like “Chain$aw” and “King,Scar” for his raise to viral notoriety. He released the video for “Chain$aw” on May 31st 2017. A week later he released the music video for “King, Scar”. On June 23rd, he released the music video for “Heart Attack” and the video quickly gained popularity. “Heart Attack” gained him over 50 million views on Youtube as of January 2019.
