Today marks the day of the last ever full cross country Vans Warped Tour that started back in the 90s. It is absolutely nuts how big and how long this tour has been going on for and the impact it has made on fans and the careers of many bands. As always everyone has their favorites to see on Warped Tour so instead of just music taste, we created a list with other reasons to see these bands.
NOTE: These are bands on the FULL tour only
1. 3OH!3
This band always brings the party and knows how to work the crowd. Being veterans on the tour, it’s very fitting they get to go out with a bang and expect no less. After all, you all know what to do when the “Black dress, with the tights underneath” line kicks in…Do yourselves a favor and see one of the modern classic staples of Warped Tour this summer!
2. Issues
Another band that has been on Warped Tour in recent years a ton but aside from their energeic shows and great music, this will be the first time many fans will see Issues live without beloved former unclean vocalist Michael Bohen. Bohen was outed from the band earlier this year to many fans’ shock. We haven’t heard any new music from Issues since the split but this summer is one to watch to see how they do with the new dynamic.
3. Chelsea Grin
In simliar style and reasoning to Issues, Chelsea Grin is a must see because a key member in frontman Alex Koehler left the band and Lorna Shore’s Tom Barber became the new voice of the storied deathcore act. We have a new record coming from the Chelsea Grin camp where we can hear the monster Barber is in the studio and despite many seeing him with Lorna Shore in the past, the big stage of Warped Tour with the Chelsea Grin brand is new territory for him and the other members.
4. Sharptooth
One of the new faces to Warped Tour is Sharptooth and we bet you’ll all know their name when it’s said and done. They carry powerful and unapologetic messages about sexism, homophobia, racism, and everything in between in their music. With the aggressive voice of Lauren Kashan and the hard hitting riffs and breakdowns from the band, they won’t be a band you can ignore all summer.
5. Story Untold
What better way to cap off a 5 band must see list other than with a new pop punk act that’ll demand your attention all summer! Enter Story Untold. They have a very mature yet catchy style when it comes to the genre that has been known for its cheesy repetitivness and lack of originality over the years. It will be awesome to see how this young band handles the big stage for a long and hot summer tour across the country.
